Machouyou

Machouyou® is designed to allow baby teeth to rest on the buccal plane. The tongue is freed to position itself on the palate. The lips come to rest on the inclined plane, making them competent. Worn with the mouth closed, it develops nasal ventilation. The external part, with the “Machouyou® smile”, allows you to attach a small ribbon to personalize it, and to fit a pacifier clip.

From the age of 2, it’s normal to stop sucking his thumb or pacifier. He should give up the bottle and drink from a cup. Ideally, children should eat solid foods like adults and use their teeth. Today’s softer foods (purée, compotes, sandwich bread, etc.) do not sufficiently stimulate the masticatory muscles. This limits jaw expansion, and can lead to orthodontic and posture problems. When swallowing with a pacifier or thumb, the tongue remains in a low position. This can lead to speech problems and excessive force on the teeth, pushing them forward. Stopping sucking and switching to a crunchy diet enables the tongue to assume its physiological position on the palate for adult swallowing.
